Definitely bring your water into the sauna in a closed container, but please don't get it near any of the heaters. If you have a spill, let us know ASAP.
STAY HYDRATED
People enjoy relaxing in a quiet setting. Please be mindful of this when talking, setting your music volume, and moving about your suite. We also ask that you turn off or silence your phone in the studio and use headphones to reduce sound.
KEEP IT DOWN
Please keep all food and beverages - other than water - out of the saunas.

We provide each person a hand towel, full size bath towel, and a cold washcloth (upon request for after your sauna session). If you need any extras, just let us know, or you are welcome to bring your own. Please leave our towels behind in the suite after your session and we will collect them for cleaning.
TOWEL SERVICE
Our sauna doors are made of glass so please be gentle when opening and closing them. Please also remember to close the door so the heat stays contained in the sauna. Thank you in advance for being kind to our equipment.
BE KIND
You can set the temperature to whatever is comfortable for you, but please do not turn the sauna off!
KEEP IT ON
Your session in the suite is 60 minutes. Please use the provided timer to track your time. We schedule sessions to allow for appropriate time for cleaning and preparing the suite in between members and suggest not staying in the sauna for more than 40 minutes at a time.
WATCH THE TIME
Please listen to your body and make sure you adjust the temperature to your comfort level. Do not use it if pregnant, sick, bleeding, intoxicated, or dehydrated. Consult your doctor if you are in doubt.
BE SAFE
Whether you want to meditate, read, journal, listen to music — whatever puts you in a relaxed state of mind, we hope you enjoy your Wave Wellness experience!
ENJOY!
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is infrared light?Infrared light is the invisible part of the sun’s spectrum. They are the healthiest rays you can encounter, with the ability to penetrate into the skin deeply as they dissolve harmful substances that build up in your body. While the sun is the primary source of radiant energy, not all of its energy is beneficial. The sun’s ultraviolet rays can damage the skin. Far-infrared heat provides all the healthy benefits of natural sunlight without any of the dangerous side effects of solar radiation and exposure.
-
How is an infrared sauna different from a traditional sauna?Far infrared waves penetrate 1.5 inches or more into our body, raising the core body temperature and producing a deep and detoxifying sweat at a cellular level. The sweat glands offer one of only a few mechanisms that the body has to eliminate toxins and since the skin is the largest organ in the human body, it is a very good means for elimination. When far infrared waves are applied to water molecules (comprising 70% of our body) these molecules begin to vibrate. This vibration reduces the ion bonds and the eventual breakdown of the water molecules causes encapsulated gasses and other toxic materials to be released. Infrared heat is gentle on the body. It feels similar to lying outside on a warm day, but shaded from the harsh ultraviolet rays. Unlike traditional saunas, which often operate around 200°F or more, infrared stays at a more comfortable temperature of 120-160°F. Traditional saunas heat the air instead of the body directly, which can make them unbearably hot and breathing difficult. Because infrared penetrates human tissue instead of heating the skin’s surface, they are seven times more effective at detoxifying the body. The sweat produced by a traditional sauna might have only 3% toxins, while infrared can produce sweat comprised of up to 20% toxins.
-
What is a cold plunge?A state-of-the-art ice bath. Cold water immersion is a practice that has been around for a very long time. It impacts full body health in a number of ways. It constricts your body’s blood vessels, flushing toxins from your body. The icy temperature helps reduce inflammation and swelling throughout the body. As your body naturally begins to heat itself back up after your treatment, blood vessels expand to allow blood flow. The constriction and expansion of the blood vessels has benefits to blood pressure, overall circulation, metabolism, sleep, immunity and resetting the central nervous system. Combining the process with breath-work further increases the health benefits. Our ice bath therapy supports improved mental and physical health. NOTE: Our plunge tubs are extra-large and can accommodate up to two people.
-
Are the saunas private?Yes, both our infrared sauna suites and contrast therapy suites are private with their own vitamin-C infused shower. If you are only using the cold plunge we offer a separate shower room.
-
Do you accept walk-ins?We do, we just can’t promise we will have availability for the service you would like.
-
How long are sessions?Infrared sauna and contrast therapy sessions are 60 minutes long, to accommodate for a maximum of 40 minutes in the sauna and then a shower. For a contrast therapy session specifically, we suggest at least 10 minutes in the infrared sauna followed by a 1-3 minute cold plunge x 3 (this gets you to the 60 minutes). A cold plunge session is 20 minutes total. A shower is needed prior to your plunge, then we recommend the plunge time itself being between 1-6 minutes. You can also use the shower afterwards if you choose. A red light therapy suite session is 30 minutes and there is a shower in the suite, if needed.
-
What should I wear? For the infrared sauna suites, the less the better, to allow maximum skin exposure for the release of sweat. The suites are private, so go ahead and wear your birthday suit if you’re comfortable. We also provide a large bath towel for each guest to use in the sauna if they prefer. We do recommend that you bring a water bottle (we provide a water cooler to refill your bottle) and also have beverages available for purchase. For the cold plunge and red light therapy, you will want to wear a swimsuit unless you are in a private contrast therapy suite - then by all means feel free to plunge naked.
-
What should I bring?Yourself and the appropriate attire based on your session type. We provide all the necessary toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, deodorant, dry shampoo, combs, Q-tips, and hair ties in the private suites and the vanity area. We also provide Dyson blow dryers and hair straighteners. If you plan to listen to music or watch videos in the saunas please bring headphones to help keep the noise down in the studio.
-
How often should I come?In order to prioritize your self-care routine we suggest you come at least 3 times per week. It is the perfect complement to your exercise routine as a rest or recovery day, or after a workout, but trust yourself to find what works best for your body and its needs.
-
How do I make an appointment? We take appointments through our website, our app, by phone, and in person.
-
Is there an age limit? You must be 18 years or older to come on your own. If you are 16-17 years old, you must be accompanied by an adult.
-
What should I do while in the sauna? We encourage you to use your time in the sauna to relax and meditate. Allow the infrared heat to melt away any stress or fatigue you may be experiencing. If you’re not interested in completely ‘turning off’ then you can listen to music or watch videos on your phone, but please use headphones. You can also bring a book, magazine, or even journal in the sauna to pass the time. And if you are feeling more active, feel free to do exercises such as stretching or yoga.
-
Can I enjoy the sauna with another person?Absolutely! Our saunas accommodate up to 4 people, and we charge individually. If you do choose to experience the sauna with a friend or loved one, please be mindful and keep your conversations to a considerate volume as the saunas are not completely soundproof. Please note that our online system cannot make reservations for more than one person in a sauna, so please call us to schedule this type of appointment.
-
How do you clean the saunas between each use?Our staff cleans each sauna before and after each session. We use an essential oil solution to sanitize each unit and we refresh the suite with clean towels between each client as well. Our saunas maintain an elevated temperature ensuring a clean and healthy session, but as an added layer of protection, we use the Clearlight® UV Wand between sessions. Using high powered LED’s, the UV Wand allows you to disinfect up to 10x faster than most fluorescent UV devices and the Clearlight® UV Wand is up to 2x more powerful than other LED UV devices.
-
How do you clean the cold plunge between each use?The cold plunge tub has a robust filtration system that includes: UV, Ozone and a 5 micron filter. Our staff allows for a 10 minute cleaning cycle between every client and a more in depth cleaning is done by the team at the start of every day. Water is replaced as needed and we conduct ongoing maintenance (testing pH) to ensure the highest quality water.
-
Who should not use the sauna? If you are unsure whether or not you should use the sauna, please consult your physician. Those who are pregnant, breast feeding, have serious inflammation, a fever, communicable disease, hemophilia, are dehydrated or intoxicated should not use the saunas. You may also want to consult your physician ahead of time if you are concerned about interference with medications or current care, are elderly, have cardiovascular or chronic conditions, are sensitive to heat, or have a condition that affects your body’s ability to sweat. NOTE: Talk to your doctor but in most cases it is recommended to wait 36-48 hours after getting botox.
